Los Angeles, Feb 3 (IANS) Director Woody Allen is said to have found the allegations made by his adopted daughter of him sexually abusing her when she was seven, “untrue and disgraceful”.
“Mr. Allen has read the article and found it untrue and disgraceful. He will be responding very soon,” variety.com quoted a representative of the 78-year-old.
“At the time, a thorough investigation was conducted by court appointed independent experts. The experts concluded there was no credible evidence of molestation, that Dylan Farrow had an inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality, and that Dylan Farrow had likely been coached by her mother Mia Farrow. No charges were ever filed,” the representative added.
Dylan Farrow, the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow and Allen, wrote a first personal account to The New York Times citing details that she was sexually assaulted by the film director when she was seven.
According to her claims in the letter, when she was seven Allen took her to a “closet-like attic” in their home and sexually abused her. She then reported the issue to her mother, which resulted in Allen and Mia splitting up as a couple in 1992.
