Astana, Feb 5 (IANS) Indian girls blanked arch-rivals Pakistan 3-0 for their second consecutive win in Pool D of the Asia/Oceania Zone Group I Fed Cup tennis at the National Tennis Centre here Wednesday.

Both India and table toppers New Zealand have equal number of points but India are currently second on the basis of games lost. India had beaten Iran 3-0 in the first match here Tuesday.
Against Pakistan, the Indian girls came out firing all cylinders to thrash the neighbours by a similar margin.
Prarthana Thombare beat Ushna Suhail 6-0, 6-1 in the first singles and Ankita Raina doubled the lead for India with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sara Mansoor.
Prarthana and Rishika Sunkara then joined forces to beat Ushna and Sara 6-2, 6-1 in the doubles match to seal the tie 3-0 in favour of India.
It was the second consecutive day, when India’s star player Sania Mirza stayed away from the match but the Hyderabadi could been in action Friday when India face off with New Zealand for a place in the knock-out stage.
The four winners of each pool will play-off to determine which nation advances to Zone 1 for 2015.
