New Delhi, Feb 10 (IANS) The union home ministry has referred to the law ministry the missive of the Arvind Kejriwal government to withdraw an order requiring proposed bills to be sent to the central government first, official sources said Monday.

The sources said the home ministry asked the law ministry to examine the 2002 order and give its opinion on the issue.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had written to the home ministry seeking withdrawal of its order which directs the Delhi government to take approval of the ministry before passage of any bill in the assembly.
Delhi government officials said Chief Secretary Sanjoy Kumar Srivastava has written to Home Secretary Anil Goswami on the issue.
AAP leaders said there was no need for the Delhi government to send its Jan Lokpal bill to the central government for its prior approval, and termed the home ministry directive as “unconstitutional”.
