Berlin, Mar 1 (IANS) Germany coach Joachim Loew has appointed Bastian Schweinsteiger and also four newcomers for the friendly against Chile.

The Germany coach reacted on the injury crises and invited Freiburg’s defender Matthias Ginter, Sampdoria’s defender Shkodran Mustafi, Hamburg’s Pierre Michel Lasogga and Augsburg’s Andre Hahn.
“Many players are still injured and battered or just got back. We have to work for on solutions and practise for an emergency. Therefore, we decided to invite new players who showed consistent and good performances in their clubs,” Loew said.
Schweinsteiger returns after a long-term injury. He will make his first game after his last appearance in October 2013 when they defeated Sweden 5-3.
“Bastaisn is back on track as he showed recently at Bayern. We all know how important he is for our game. He is an absolute world-class player who can make the difference for us in Brazil. I know how hard he works to be in shape in the summer,” Joachim Loew added.
Germany encounters Chile Wednesday in Stuttgart for their first game in 2014.
The Germans sit on second place of the FIFA world rankings meanwhile Chile occupy the 14th place. The two sides clashed six times, Germany reaped four wins and suffered two defeats.
