Tehran, March 6 (IANS) Iran has rejected, as “a lie”, Israeli allegations that it has supplied advanced rockets for militants in the Gaza Strip.
The pro-Israeli reports about an Iranian ship carrying arms for Gaza coincided with annual anti-Iran campaign of American Israel Public Affairs Committee and is an “amazing coincidence” or “the same failed lie”, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif tweeted, reported Xinhua.
Also, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said Thursday that “the allegations of… a ship carrying weapons from Iran to Gaza is not true”, Iranian media reported.
“The claim is merely based on repetitive and baseless lies of the Zionist media,” Amir-Abdollahian was quoted as saying.
The Israeli special forces Wednesday intercepted an Iranian ship in the Red Sea that ferried missiles for militants in the Gaza Strip, Israeli military said.
A search on board the Panamanian-flagged vessel, named the KLOS- C, yielded dozens of Syrian-made M-302 surface-to-surface rockets that were concealed under cement bags, it said.
