Mumbai, Mar 7 (IANS) Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who was a special guest at the trailer launch of Subhash Ghai’s “Kaanchi”, confesses that his films, especially the recent release “Highway”, are influenced by those of the industry’s showman.

“I do not think there has been a director as successful as him (Ghai) in the Indian film industry. Personally, I have seen ‘Hero’ 25 times, in the theatre. You can see the influence in my latest film ‘Highway’,” the filmmaker told reporters here.
“I have learnt a lot from this gentleman. It’s difficult to explain that how much he has contributed to my growth and my movie making.” he added.
“Highway”, starring Alia Bhatt, released February 21. It received critical appreciation and did an average business at the box office.
The trailer of Ghai’s “Kaanchi”, his directorial venture after five years, was unveiled at an event here Thursday. It features Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Kartik Aaryan, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Rishabh Sinha and newcomer Mishti.
