Wellington, March 15 (IANS) An Indian-origin dental worker in New Zealand has admitted to indecently assaulting three teenaged school girls.
Jitendra Prasad Tahal pleaded guilty in the Manukau District Court in New Zealand’s North Island Friday, Fairfax NZ Media reported.
He has been working for 23 Auckland schools for the past five years.
Police said he has been charged with indecent assault based on complaints made by the three teenagers for the last two years.
Although employed in a mobile dental service provider since 2008, police said that he was dismissed from his job when the allegations came up.
According to police, Tahal was not involved directly in providing dental treatment in the schools but he did have contact with the students.
Meanwhile, the court suppressed the identities of his employer, the district health board involved and the names of the schools and victims.
Tahal was remanded on bail and will be sentenced next month.
