New Delhi, March 20 (IANS) A total of 19 candidates filed nomination papers Thursday for the Lok Sabha polls in the national capital, an Election Commission official said.

Delhi, which has seven seats, goes to polls April 10.
Congress leader Kapil Sibal, Bharatiya Janata Dal’s Altaf Hussain and Kalyankari Jantantrik Party member Ajay Kumar Khemka filed their papers from Chandni Chowk constituency.
Apart from Anand Kumar from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Abdul Sami Salmani from Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) filed his papers from the North East Delhi constituency.
Maheish Giri from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mohammed Sakil Saifi from the BSP, Jai Ram Lal from the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party and three Independent candidates – Kailash Shankar Trivedi, Kumar Vivek Gautam and Manjeet Singh – filed their papers from the East Delhi constituency.
Journalist-turned-politician Ashish Khetan from the AAP filed his papers from the New Delhi constituency.
Three Independents – Rakesh Yadav, Ruby Kumar and Jarnail Singh – filed their nominations from South Delhi while Sahid from the Naya Daur Party filed his papers for the West Delhi seat.
Inder Singh from Asankhya Samaj Party and Dinesh Kumar from Akhand Bharat Samaj Party filed their papers for North West and West Delhi.
The total number of candidates who have filed their nomination papers in Delhi has reached 34.
March 22 is the last date for candidates to submit their papers for the Lok Sabha polls in the capital.
