Nairobi, March 23 (IANS) Three church-goers were killed and 10 others were injured in a gun attack in Kenya’s coastal city of Mombasa amid authorities’ alert of terror attacks.

Three gunmen burst into a church and started shooting randomly, killing three people, including a private guard, Xinhua reported citing local police officer Robert Mureithi.
Police and witnesses said the attackers came disguised as ordinary worshipers, before opening fire and escaping on foot.
“We do not know who they are. We are yet to arrest any suspect and investigations are underway,” said Henry Ondiek, Mombasa’s CID commander, at the Joy Church where the attack happened.
Police had seized several remote-controlled bombs brought into the city by suspected Al Shabaab members last week.
Since then, Kenyan authorities have warned possible attacks on shopping malls, business buildings and social gatherings.
