New Delhi, April 2 (IANS) The Delhi Police’s emergency response will be slower on the uptake for two days — Delhiites will receive a slightly delayed response when they dial 100, it was announced Wednesday.

“Due to technical upgradation at the central Police Control Room, the response from the 100 number may take three to four minutes’ delay as it will be handled manually,” said a police official.
The 100 number will be on manual mode from 10 p.m. Thursday to the same time Saturday, he said.
While explaining about the manual mode process, the official said normally when one calls 100, the information is noted down on computer and it is handed over to the department concerned within a minute.
“But, for two days, the information will be noted down on paper and it will take three to four minutes to forward it to the next department. Hence, there will be a slight delay,” added the official.
