Kabul, April 5 (IANS) At least three people were injured Saturday in a blast at a polling centre in Afghanistan’s Logar province, the district governor said.

“An improvised explosive device (IED) went off near a polling centre in Mughul area of Mohammad Agha district at around 9.30 a.m. (local time), leaving three voters injured,” Governor Abdul Hamid told Xinhua.
It was the first attack against voters in the country’s presidential election.
The injured were shifted to a hospital in the province, 60 km from here.
Afghans began voting Saturday morning to elect a new president for the next five years in the country’s first democratic transfer of power through polling.
