Madrid, April 20 (IANS) With Real Madrid’s game away to Valladolid postponed to allow them more time to prepare for next week’s Champions League tie at home to Bayern Munich, the attention turned to sides battling to avoid relegation to the second division.

Osasuna Saturday night drew 1-1 at home to Valencia in a result which keeps the side from Pamplona three points above the relegation zone, reports Xinhua.
Getafe remain in the relegation zone after a dreadful game away to Levante which ended 0-0. Getafe can at least draw some comfort from a valuable away point.
Real Sociedad and Espanyol were on track for the third draw of the day before Carlos Vela’s 91st minute winning goal.
The Mexican ensured the three points stayed in San Sebastian and culminated a fightback after Jhon Cordoba had put Espanyol ahead in the first half before Lanzarote deflected Sergio Canales shot after 32 minutes.
Friday night saw Atletico Madrid open up a six point lead at the top of the table thanks to a nervy 2-0 win at home to Elche.
Sunday sees a Barcelona side with several key players, such as Sergio Busquets, Carles Puyol, Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique and Neymar all injured, play at home to fourth place Athletic Club Bilbao in what promises to be a difficult atmosphere for ‘Tata’ Martino’s side following Wednesday’s Copa del Rey defeat to Real Madrid.
