Rio de Janeiro, May 31 (IANS) Ronaldinho’s Atletico Mineiro have confirmed plans to play three friendlies in China within seven days during the Brazilian championship’s World Cup recess.
The Belo Horizonte club will meet Guizhou Renhe in Taiyuan June 22 before clashes against Jiangsu Shuntian in Nantong City June 25 and Guangzhou Evergrande in Nanning City three days later, reports Xinhua.
The match against Guangzhou Evergrande will be a repeat of their battle for third place at last December’s FIFA Club World Cup, which the Brazilian side won 3-2.
Atletico’s medical staff have confirmed that two-time FIFA world player of the year Ronaldinho will be fit for the China trip after recovering from a left thigh strain.
Brazil’s Serie A season will go into recess from Sunday, resuming after the World Cup final in mid-July.
