Rockers KINGS OF LEON made amends with their British fans on Sunday night (30Aug09) bringing the Leeds music festival to a climactic close after their turbulent performance at the Reading leg of the event.
The Sex on Fire hitmakers were left fuming during their set at the U.K. festival on Friday (28Aug09), after their appearance was marred by sound problems and windy conditions.
The band also failed to win over the crowd, calling them “cold” and smashing their instruments on stage in protest at the icy reception.
But the group was back to its best on Sunday, with frontman Caleb Followill telling the audience, “We’re only five songs in and you’ve blown Reading to hell. This is for all you people who didn’t come for two songs.
“However, Followill admitted they won’t be coming back to the U.K. any time soon, adding, “This is the last show we have booked in England for a long, long time, so I’m gonna get my buzz on. It was the U.K. that made us feel like we could take on the world. In the process we may have lost a few fans, but we’ve got the best f**king fans in the world.”
