Jakarta, July 31 (IANS) At least seven bodies were recovered Thursday after a boat with 47 passengers capsized in Indonesia’s Sumatra region, an official said.
The accident occurred in Berombang river in Panai Hilir sub-district when the boat was returning from Kuala-Ledong sub-district, the official told Xinhua.
“The boat was running out of fuel and was swept by the current. It destabilised and sank,” the official said.
“Seven bodies have been recovered and the hunt for 13 missing people continues,” the official added.
On Tuesday, a wooden boat with 60 people on board capsized in Kapuas river of central Kalimantan, leaving 15 people dead, and three missing.
