Patna, July 31 (IANS) Maoist guerrillas blew up the house of a CRPF constable in Bihar’s Aurangabad district early Thursday to protest the killing of two people a fortnight ago in a gunbattle with police, officials said.
This is the second such incident within a week in the Maoists affected district when rebels have targeted the homes of security personnel.
Aurangabad Superintendent of Police Upender Kumar Sharma said a group of Maoists surrounded Pipra village and blew up the home of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Contable Vinod Singh.
Vinod Singh is currently posted at Barachatti in Gaya district as a member of Combat Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) that is deployed for anti-Maoists operations in the state.
“Vinod Singh’s home was was severely damaged,” Sharma said.
He said there were no casualties as the Maoists asked his family to vacate the house before they blew it up using dynamite.
Last week, Maoists blasted the home of police official Kedar Nath Singh in the district.
