New Delhi, July 31 (IANS) BJP president Amit Shah Thursday exhorted his party parliamentarians to work for the upcoming assembly polls in four states, and suggested they should intensify public interaction to ensure that the faith reposed by the people in them in the general election is not diluted.

He said the Bharatiya Janata Party parliamentarians should set up public-interaction cells in their respective constituencies.
“Party MPs should use ‘contact, coordination and dialogue’ as a medium to learn about people’s grievances and work towards their redressal.
“The MPs should set up public-interaction cells in their constituencies and seriously assess people’s problems and initiate discussions on them in parliament,” Shah said in his address to the BJP parliamentary board here.
He described the BJP’s election victory as “historic” and said the party was bound to maintain people’s trust who have for the first time brought a non-Congress government to power at the centre with a simple majority.
He said BJP parliamentarians should focus on booth-level work to ensure victory in the forthcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
