Patna, Sep 2 (Inditop.com) Suspected Maoist guerrillas in Bihar have kidnapped six security guards working for a private construction company that had not met their extortion demand, police here said Wednesday.

The incident took place late Tuesday when a group of armed guerrillas attacked the office of Subhash Projects & Marketing Ltd (SPML), a private road construction firm in Jamui district. They damaged equipment in the office before kidnapping the security guards.

Police said the private firm had not paid up the money being demanded by the Maoists.

A hunt has been launched to look for the missing men but there has been no breakthrough so far, an official said.

Last month, five policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector, were killed and two injured in a Maoist attack in Sono Bazar area in Jamui district.
