Mumbai, Sep 2 (IANS) Two-and-three wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto Tuesday reported an increase of eight percent in its sales for August which stood at 336,840 units against 312,188 units sold in the like month of 2013.
According to the company, it expects September, 2014 sales to be at 400,000 units.
Segment-wise, the company’s motorcycle sales were up two percent at 284,302 units from 278,583 units sold in the corresponding period last year.
Commercial vehicle sales was the highest ever for any month at 52,538 units from 33,605 units sold in August 2013.
The company’s exports rose by 21 percent at 175,127 units from 144,160 units being shipped out during the corresponding month of last year.
The company’s scrip at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was at Rs.2,290 up 27.10 points or 1.20 percent around 1.00 p.m Tuesday.
