Paris, Sep 5 (IANS) Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta, who was left out of Italy’s latest squad, said he was eager to get a national call-up.

“The coach is new and he is looking to shape the squad,” commented the Brazilian-born midfielder Thursday, part of the 2014 World Cup campaign who was omitted by the new Azzurri boss Antonio Conte for this month’s international fixtures, reports Xinhua.
“I’m not disappointed that I’ve been left out, but if Conte feels that I could do well in his national side then I will be delighted,” he said.
Motta, a former Genoa and Inter Milan player in Italy’s Serie A, has scored one goal in 23 caps for Italy.
