MADONNA made her Sticky & Sweet show in Israel on Tuesday night (01Sep09) a family affair – she brought daughter LOURDES onstage with her.
The star performed to 50,000 fans at Hayarkon Park in the capital Tel Aviv for her first show in the country in 16 years, and even wrapped herself in an Israeli flag during the concert.
She told the adoring crowd, “I shouldn’t have stayed so long away. Every time I come here, I get so supercharged with energy. I truly believe that Israel is the energy centre of the world. I also believe that if we can all live together in harmony in this place, then we can live in peace all over the world.”
And Madonna thrilled her fans with an extra special treat, bringing on her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes after she had finished her energetic routine to Give It 2 Me.
The youngster, who features in the video to her famous mum’s new track Celebration, and the Queen of Pop also wore matching outfits of black trousers and vest tops, and both donned a pair of black-framed geek-style glasses.
Madonna’s visit to Israel had been marred with controversy after she received a police escort for a sightseeing trip around Jerusalem’s Old City on Sunday (30Aug09) and was spotted dining out with opposition leader Tzipi Livni on Monday (31Aug09).
