Lucknow, Sep 3 (Inditop.com) A group of women roughed up a bank manager in an Uttar Pradesh village after he refused to meet them for a loan demand, police said Thursday.
Agitated women, armed with brooms and slippers, barged into Union Bank branch manager’s cabin in Phephna village of Ballia district Wednesday, and manhandled him for refusing to meet them for the past 10 days.
“Though we have learnt such an incident took place yesterday (Wednesday), no complaint has yet been registered either by the manager or the bank employees,” Inspector Tej Bahadur Singh told IANS by phone. The village lies 300 km from here.
According to police, the group of women had been trying to meet the bank official for the past 10 days for a Rs.25,000 loan to start a small business.
The women also held demonstration outside the bank, Singh said.
