New Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS) Former Delhi legislator S.C. Vats of the Congress Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, saying he was unhappy with the policies of his party.
Vats expressed his confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working in the right direction to develop the country.
“There has been a change in the policies of the Congress in the last few years. Earlier, it used to talk about the common man but it changed its economic policies which resulted in inflation,” Vats said.
“I have been influenced by the policies of Modi ji and the way he has curbed inflation during the last six months,” he added.
Vats had contested from Shakurbasti constituency in the December 2013 assembly election but lost. Vats earlier represented Shakurbasti in the assembly.
Along with him, Congress councillor Jyoti Nitin Aggarwal and some other party leaders too joined the BJP.
