New Delhi, Jan 2 (IANS) Two and three-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto Friday reported a decline of three percent in its monthly sales for December 2014 at 289,244 units — down from 297,776 units sold in the corresponding month of 2013.
However, the company exported 10 percent more units in the month under review compared to Dec 2013.
The company shipped out 166,134 units — up from 150,753 units sold abroad during the corresponding month of 2013.
Segment-wise, the company sold 246,233 motorcycles in the month under review — down six percent from 260,645 sold in Dec 2013.
Commercial vehicle sales zoomed by 16 percent during last month and stood at 43,011 units compared to 31,131 units in the like period of 2013.
For the fiscal 2014-15, the company sold a total of 3,028,532 units — up three percent from 2,934,295 units during the corresponding period of 2013-14.
The two and three-wheeler manufacturer’s exports during the first nine months of the fiscal grew by 22 percent at 1,451,474 units from 1,186,099 units during April-Dec 2013-14.
Segment-wise, the company sold 2,619,115 motorcycles in the period under review — up one percent from 2,597,112 units sold in like period of 2013-14.
Commercial vehicle sales grew by 21 percent during the April-Dec period of last fiscal and stood at 409,417 units from 337,183 units in the corresponding period of 2013-14.
