Jakarta, Sep 7 (DPA) An Indonesian Navy plane crashed Monday afternoon in eastern Kalimantan in the Indonesian part of Borneo, and all nine people on board were feared dead, news reports and officials said.

The accident took place at about 1 p.m. (0600 GMT) when the Nomad airplane crashed in East Kalimantan district of Rayan, army spokesman Sagom Tamboen said.

He gave no further details but MetroTV private television said the plane was carrying nine people and was scheduled to fly to the East Kalimatan district of Tarakan.

“It was not immediately known the cause of the accident. We are still waiting a further information from navy spokesman,” Tamboen was quoted as saying by detik.com online news portal.
