London, Jan 31 (IANS) A British military healthcare worker came back to Britain from Sierra Leone for Ebola monitoring after he suffered a needle-stick injury when treating a person diagnosed with Ebola, the Public Health England (PHE) said Saturday.
The PHE said the person, who suffered a needle-stick injury when treating a person diagnosed with Ebola in Sierra Leone, was transferred by a Royal Air Force flight Saturday, Xinhua reported.
The PHE said the individual has been admitted in the Royal Free Hospital in London for clinical assessment. The person will be monitored for the remainder of the 21-day incubation period.
The person has been exposed to the Ebola virus, but has not been diagnosed with Ebola and does not have symptoms, according to the PHE.
