New Delhi, Sep 9 (Inditop.com) With most auto brands coming out with refurbished models, Ford India Wednesday joined the bandwagon to re-launch its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Endeavour.

The new Endeavour, which will come in two variants, boasts of five speed automatic transmission and airbags on the sides in addition to those in front of the driver and passenger seats.

Priced at Rs.17.99 lakh for 3-litre, 4×4 automatic transmission and Rs.15.99 lakh for the 2.5-litre, 4×2 manual transmission variant, the SUV is available in five colours.

Besides the existing range – morello, panther black and diamond white, two new colours have been added to the palette – sea grey and moondust silver.

“We expect good response with this launch,” Ford India president and managing director Michael Bonham told reporters here.

The new variant has a seven inch touch screen satellite navigation system, built-in DVD player, a rear camera and bluetooth communication system on the automatic transmission variant, which also has a USB input.

The SUV has a host of new design elements like a multi-bar chrome grille and chrome accented lower grille combining with sleek, wraparound headlamps.

The company, which sold 1,200 units of Endeavour between January and August, claims to have a market share of 28 percent in the SUV segment.

Ford is also upbeat about the upcoming festive season. “We see a very strong next few months. This is due to a combination of our product line-up and also economic recovery,” Bonham said.
