New Delhi, April 2 (IANS) The government on Thursday provisionally reported an increase of 9.9 percent in indirect tax collection at Rs.546,479 crore during April-March 2014-15 on a provisional basis.
According to finance ministry, the collection during last fiscal stood at Rs.497,061 crore.
“The indirect taxes collections for the Financial Year (FY) 2014-15 has exceeded the revised estimates (RE) target of FY 2014-15 by Rs.4,000 crore,” the ministry said in statement.
The revised estimates target for indirect tax revenue collection had been pegged at Rs.542,325 crore for the FY 2014-15.
The indirect tax revenue collection during April-February 2014-15 had increased by 7.4 percent (provisional) and stood at Rs.478,630 crore from Rs.441,565 crore.
