New Delhi, Sep 11 (Inditop.com) Bikes and men go hand in hand – and that’s just how India’s first ever men’s fashion week kickstarted as businessman Navin Ansal revved up a classic Harley Davidson bike for internationally-renowned designer Ravi Bajaj’s inaugural show here Friday.

The head honcho of Ansal Properties, who is also an interior designer and a regular on Delhi’s fashion circuit, walked the Van Heusen India Mens Week (VHIMW) ramp wearing a cream bandhgala and slim fit trousers with self-printed paisleys.

“I started my show with a 52-year-old man and not with a young man because Navin can himself associate with luxury and his love for expensive bikes matches the essence of my collection – that is, ultimate luxury,” Bajaj told Inditop after the show.

“My collection is all about luxury, indulgence and vanity. And Navin fitted the bill perfectly because he indulges in so many things. He has more accessories and glares than any woman,” he added.

As he vroomed the bike off the ramp, the degree of excitement among the audience soared high.

The collection featured slim fit shirts, pants, bandhgalas, kurtas and jackets teamed with loose pyjamas and slim fit trousers in materials like leather, velvet, linen, and tussar silk et al.

The colour palette was dominated by cream, beige, muddy brown, aubergine and the evergreen black.

Just as Ansal added glamour to the show’s beginning, Bajaj took centrestage dressed in one of his three-piece creations to take a final bow and looked every bit of a show-stopper himself.
