Khartoum, June 2 (IANS) Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir was sworn in on Tuesday for another five-year term after winning 94 percent of the vote in elections held in April.

Al-Bashir, in power since 1989, said during his inauguration that he would work for peace and prosperity in the country, and to maintain stability and security, Efe news agency reported.
The 71-year-old was sworn-in at a ceremony attended by several presidents, including Abdel Fatah al-Sisi of Egypt, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, and Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya.
