Chennai, June 3 (IANS) Model-turned-actress Taapsee Pannu joined hands with consumer products company Procter & Gamble (P&G) education campaign –Shiksha– as she says a literate population assures a “better future”.
The actress is supporting the motto ‘Padhega India, Badhega India’ in its 11th year.
“P&G has a wide range of products and you become associated with the campaign by buying their products. The number of children going to schools and getting the benefit of better infrastructure facilities have increased. And I’m here with Chennai kids to celebrate this,” Taapsee told IANS.
The campaign has been instrumental in the change by equipping the schools with necessary amenities from building classrooms to building toilets, providing clean drinking water to setting up playgrounds across India including Tamil Nadu.
On asking her about the relevance of education in India, she said: “Education is the only solution to all the problems prevailing in our country. The best possible way to make the future better is education.”
On the professional front, Taapsee has wrapped up her film “Runningshaadi.com” and will be seen in her next “Agra Ka Daabra”. She was last seen with Akshay Kumar in “Baby”.
