Raipur, June 16 (IANS) Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday accused the Raman Singh government of pursuing policies favouring industralists and said that his party will form the next government in Chhattisgarh.
Addressing a rally in Janjgir-Champa district, Gandhi said that the locals have not benefitted from the land acquisition effected by the BJP government of the state.
“I met tribal people and farmers and asked them if they had seen development after your land and jungles were taken away,” Gandhi asked.
He said industralists were benefiting from the acquired lands.
“Whose land was it? Yours. Who gets the money? The industralists. What kind of development is this,” Gandhi asked.
The Congress leader said his party was sure to win the next legislative assembly polls due in 2018.
“The (next) government of the Congress will be the government of the poor, of the tribals. Everybody will progress,” he said.
