Paris, July 2 (IANS/EFE) French Finance Minister Michel Sapin warned on Thursday that if Greek citizens vote ‘No’ in Sunday’s referendum regarding the country’s financial tailspin, it may well lead to Greece’s exit from the eurozone.
The Greeks must know the consequences of voting “Yes” and voting “No”, Sapin said in an interview with iTELE network.
If Greek voters refuse the proposal of the troika institutions (the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund), negotiations would enter a truly “unknown area”, Sapin warned adding that it could lead to Greece’s exit from the Eurozone.
“You cannot reach a deal with someone who tells you ‘No’,” he said, referring to Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’s decision to go ahead with the referendum, asking voters to reject the proposal.
