Might seem like a headline from the past, but it really is not. Sachin and Warne stepped on the pitch once again with their All Stars team at the New York Mets Citi Stadium in New York on Saturday. It was great fun to see all the legends entering the ground and playing it out on the pitch. But after all the fanfare was done and dusted, it did come out to competitive cricket. Sadly for many Indians and fans across the world, Sachin’s Blasters were blasted away by Warne’s Warriors in the first match of the Three T20 match series.

After winning the toss, Shane Warne elected to field first and we were able to see the legendary Sachin and Sehwag duo opening the batting once again. Sehwag was at his destructive best when he went on hitting the ball out of the park at every chance he got and got the team to a blistering start. Things were only looking up from there when Shane Warne came in to bowl and he got the best of Tendulkar when he dismissed the batsman which started the downfall.

Sehwag followed soon in the very next Vettori over and none of the other batsmen were able to make any impact on the scorecard. The entire team managed to put up only 140 on the board which was peanuts for the opponents. Warne’s team did falter at the start, losing wickets in quick succession, but the partnership of Jaques Kallis and Ricky Pointing steadied the innings and took them to victory.

The Warriors now with a 1 match lead will take on the Blasters in the second match in Los Angeles following which they will play the third match in Texas. It is going to be a real treat for many and lots of people are eagerly waiting to see the next battle clash of the titans.
