Mumbai, Feb 1 (IANS) Leading Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Monday reported a rise of ten percent in its total sales during the last month.

The company overall sold 43,789 units during the month under review from an off-take of 39,930 units during the corresponding period of last year.

“We are happy to have achieved a growth of 10 percent during January 2016, which has been possible due to the demand for our products especially the newly launched KUV100 and TUV300,” said Pravin Shah, president and chief executive (automotive), M&M in a statement.

Domestic vehicle sales, also grew by 10 percent to 40,693 units during the period under review from 37,045 units sold in January, 2015.

Sales of passenger vehicles segment which comprises of utility vehicles, cars and vans rose by 13 percent to 22,088 units from 19,573 units sold during the like month of last year.

Commercial vehicles segment’s sales increased by 11 percent during the last month and stood at 14,385 units from an off-take of 12,946 units sold during January, 2015.
However, three-wheeler’s off-take declined by seven percent to 4,220 units from 4,526 units clocked in the like period of 2015.

Exports achieved a healthy growth of seven percent to 3,096 units from 2,885 units shipped-out during January, 2015.
