Abu Dhabi, Sep 19 (Inditop.com) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has given its approval to an updated executive plan to fight influenza A (H1N1) infection in the country’s schools, WAM news agency reported Saturday.
The UAE Committee for Combating Swine Flu approved the plan, which was drawn in association with the ministry of social affairs, after taking stock of the general swine flu situation in the country’s schools.
Ali Shukar, director general of the ministry of health, said after the meeting that the overall situation after two weeks of starting classes in some schools was “very stable”.
“Roles of stakeholders from the ministries of health and education as well as other competent authorities handing the H1N1 virus file were determined during the meeting,” he said.
Education zones and school administrations would be given powers to partially postpone classes, he added.
