Patna, Sep 20 (Inditop.com) Following a public outcry over the kidnapping of six-year-old Patna boy last week, Bihar Police Sunday said they would seek speedy trial of the five men arrested for the crime.
“We will file a chargesheet and soon approach the court for a speedy trial in this case,” Additional Director General (Police Headquarters) Neelmani told Inditop.
Neelmani said police have completed the investigation and will ensure punishment for all the five accused.
The five men, including mastermind Varun, were arrested and jailed Thursday for kidnapping six-year-old Shresth Sanjay at gun-point while he was on his way to school Monday. Three armed men overtook the autorickshaw in which he was going to school, forced the driver to stop and abducted him.
Police rescued Shresth from Saran district in Bihar Thursday. Shresth is student of Class 1 in Christ Church School here. He is the son of Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, an executive with Ajanta Pharmaceutical Company.
There were protests after the boy was kidnapped from the state capital as police failed to trace the boy even after three days of the incident.
