Recognizing China’s congratulatory message to Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi for his third term, India reiterated the importance of the three mutuals – mutual respect, mutual sensitivity, and mutual interest – which have been consistently emphasized to restore bilateral relations to normalcy. Though a message from President Xi Jinping is anticipated, the Chinese foreign ministry and newly appointed Ambassador Xu Feihong have already extended their congratulations.
