CCTV footage of the crime shows the assailant shooting D Gopi Krishna, whose family is from Yajali in Karlapalem mandal of Bapatla district, at close range before hopping over the counter to reach the cash till. Gopi, who had an Indian engineering degree with which he hoped to land a proper job, was employed at the store counter when he was shot and critically wounded. He died hours after being hospitalised. Gopi’s body will be flown to his hometown on Wednesday.
