The weather agency said that June alone saw 181 heatwave days, the most in the month in 15 years. According the IMD, India is set to witness above normal railfall in July, adding that La Nina conditions, which are considered favourable for monsoon rainfall in India, are likey to prevail in August and September. Northwest India experienced its warmest June on record since 1901, with an average temperature of 31.73 degrees Celsius. The average minimum temperature was 25.44 degrees Celsius, 1.35 degrees higher than usual.
