A father in Aligarh district sold his newborn daughter for Rs 56,000 to a childless couple to manage financial distress. The incident came to light after the mother lodged a complaint. Following police intervention and scrutiny of CCTV footage, the baby was returned and no case was filed as both parties settled the issue themselves.
