In Nangla Shekhu village, Meerut, a 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly strangling his 17-year-old sister in public after a heated argument over her intent to marry a man from another religion. The incident followed her elopement and the lover’s recent bail. Villagers captured the crime on video. Police have filed an FIR against the accused.
