Sao Paulo, Sep 24 (EFE) A gang of criminals hijacked a Brazilian bus here and forced passengers to help them take two ATMs from a bank branch, a media report said.
The bus, which was headed for Itupeva, located 77 km from Sao Paulo, was intercepted and later parked across an avenue to keep police out while male passengers were forced to load the two ATMs into a pick-up truck, Globo television reported Wednesday.
A van was also stopped and parked at the other end of the avenue to keep out traffic.
Nearly 20 masked robbers used heavy tools and small explosive charges to empty the ATMs.
Gunmen forced 10 pedestrians to help them rob an illegal bingo hall in an upscale Sao Paulo shopping centre Sep 7.
