Disgruntled JMM veteran Champai Soren announced his decision to join BJP less than two months after he stepped down as Jharkhand CM, making way for Hemant Soren. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that Champai Soren met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and will officially join BJP on August 30 in Ranchi.
