Congress denounced Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi’s claim that secularism is a European concept as outrageous and unacceptable. Jairam Ramesh called for his dismissal, labeling him a disgrace. DMK also criticized Ravi, urging him to read the Constitution and understand India’s diverse linguistic and religious landscape. Ravi alleged Indira Gandhi introduced secularism during the emergency.
