Agra, Sep 29 (Inditop.com) A junior engineer of the Agra Development Authority (ADA) was shot by three unidentified assailants in his house and is in critical condition at a private nursing home here, police said Tuesday.
The incident occurred Monday night.
B.L. Sharma was shot by three people on a motorcycle who came to his home. He was rushed to hospital after a domestic help informed the neighbours, a police official said.
Sharma’s family was in Lucknow when the incident took place.
Official sources indicated that it could have been the work of “hired goons”, who could have been sent by some contractors.
In the past, charges have often been hurled at ADA engineers for corrupt practices and manipulation of tenders.
The Agra Development Authority’s coffers are overflowing with funds collected from tourists who visit historical monuments here.
