Four months after taking charge, Women and Child Development Minister Krishna Tirath is still trying to match up to her predecessor, Renuka Choudhary, who not only provided colourful copy but was also proactive in UPA-1.
Tirath has interacted thrice with scribes – first to announce her 100-day agenda, then to highlight the ministry’s achievements and then to launch the Panchayati women leaders as ‘ahimsa’ messengers on Gandhi Jayanti.
But whenever confronted by the press, Tirath either fumbled for answers or was gently helped by her aides. Last heard, Tirath was trying to find out what was Choudhary’s USP!
