Rawalpindi, Oct 11 (Inditop.com) Pakistani security forces early Sunday launched an operation against the terrorists holding hostages at the Pakistan Army’s headquarters here, a media report said.

Military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said the operation against the terrorists had been launched and some hostages have been freed, Geo News reported.

Abbas said security forces were trying to enter the building and the number of casualties could not be confirmed.

Eight hostages were freed late Saturday by the militants.

The military had said earlier that four to five militants were holding up to 15 security men and civilians inside a building near the army headquarters in Rawalpindi and the security forces were trying for their safe release.
