New Delhi, Oct 12 (Inditop.com) A 48-year-old Delhi Police head constable allegedly shot himself inside the police station where he was posted, an official said Monday.
Rohtash shot himself in the head with his service revolver inside the Barakhamba police station around 11.10 p.m. Sunday.
The police said he replaced the duty officer at the police station and took charge around 10.20 p.m. There were two other policemen present in the police station when he shot himself.
“He was immediately rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where he died just past midnight. No suicide note was recovered from him,” said a police officer.
A senior police officer said that family problems could be the reason behind his extreme step. Rohtash had called up his sister and some other people telling them that he would not be available after 12 p.m.
The police said the deceased joined Delhi Police in 1990 and lived with his family in Najafgarh area of southwest Delhi.
