Shimla, April 18 (Inditop) A two-time MP and a former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Saturday filed nominations as Congress candidates from two important Lok Sabha constituencies in Himachal Pradesh.

Dhani Ram Shandil filed his papers from the Shimla constituency while Narinder Thakur, a former BJP leader who joined the Congress recently, filed his papers from Hamirpur.

The BJP has fielded Virender Kashyap from Shimla and state Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal’s son and sitting MP Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur.

The other two seats are Mandi and Kangra. The Congress has pitted Virbhadra Singh against BJP’s three-time MP Maheshwar Singh from Mandi, while Chander Kumar of Congress will face Rajan Sushant of BJP in Kangra.

Himachal Pradesh goes to the polls May 13.
